Corrections
If something on this site is wrong or out of date, write to corrections@gitexplorer.com. Tell us the page, the command or claim, and what you found. If a command behaves differently in your setup, include your Git version, operating system and the exact commands you ran, using placeholder names rather than your real repository, paths or account details.
What we do
- Re-run the example. We repeat the page’s example on the pinned release, and on the release you report when it differs.
- Check the documentation. We compare the claim with the official Git documentation for that release.
- Correct in public. The page gets a dated correction note saying what was wrong and what changed. Superseded records are kept, not silently replaced.
- Qualify while we check. If an error could cost a reader work, we add a warning or withdraw the advice until it is resolved.
We do not publish private details from correction reports.
